Hello all…
Thought this would be a good way to try and get some interest in my photography. I am a newbie at it. Just about a year into it. As everyone knows, the economy crapped out this year and like many, I wasn’t spared. My profession is in the engineering field as a drafter and plumbing systems designer.
Since being laid off back in April, I was almost pushed into a sense into doing more with photography. Quite a few people had made comments on my work so I thought maybe there is a hidden talent that has eluded me for many years till now. I’m currently taking a class and learning outside the class as well.
I was very fortunate enough to be picked as a contestant at BlinkArt Gallery in Philadelphia. With three images submitted I was not one of the winners. To me, having my prints on the wall for others to appreciate was prize enough.
I also encourage you to leave comments on your likes and/or dislikes of my photos and any recommendations. One can only grow through constructive criticism.
I do hope you take the time to view my works at Fine Art America. There should be a link within my profile. I also have a Facebook page as well.
Kindest Regards,
Scott Wyatt
Welcome to the site. We have much more coming for photographers and artists to hopefully make marketing yourself and your work easier.
Well done on being picked on BlinkArt. Exhibiting anywhere when first starting out is a definite Plus
If you need any help please do not hesitate to ask in the groups and you can find all your important links in the top toolbar across the whole network.
You’re doing the right thing, getting your art out there and up on the wall. Also taking a class is evidence you’re open to learning which is infinite, especially learning by exploring the work of those who inspire you. There is so much to see on the web, and many other places to exhibit and get feedback, and inspiration as well. And of course posting here!
I sadly know about hard times. My DH is an EMI/EMC Engineer and he was laid off almost 10 months ago.
I have sold enough of my Art to keep my online shops and Webs site up and running but never enough to be able to put food on the Table.
Though now I seriously wish I could.
It is wonderful that you were in the BlinkArt show!
That is something I haven’t been able to do yet as an Adult.
It is a great first step. :O)
Would be more than happy to take a look at your Art. Do you have a link?
Thank you for your comment. I sincerely hope your DH finds something soon. That’s great that yo have actually sold things. That is something I have yet to be able to do. The link to my site is on my profile page but I’ll see if I can post it here as well.
Click on his name or avatar Shari and it will take you straight to profile and all links
Beth.. I did.. and it didn’t take me any where. But will try again. ;O)
Thank you Scott.
And you will get there. It has taken me a couple of years to get to this point. Web site, then blogs, CP, Zazzle, Image Kind, FAA, Saacthi, just to name a few online stores, then FB, adversiting when I could afford it, business cards and so on all help. :O)
Ok click on his name instead LOL http://1stangel.co.uk/aaw/members/scottwyatt01/
Hope to see some of your work up soon
