Angel Ortiz – Interview With The Artist

When did you first become interested in art?

I started very young.   I was a gifted person.   I achieved numerous awards since 4th Grade elementary school.

What style of art do you use most?

Surrealism and realism.

Has your style changed from when you first began as an artist?

Yes!

What medium do you use?

Oils and acrylics

What made you choose that medium?

It depends on the style of work or grade of difficulty to achieve your goal.

Do your ideas come from life or imagination?

From both.

How do you choose your images and colors?

That´s a  hard question since I always play in my mind when I see something that I like,  same thing I do with the colors.

Who is your favorite artist?

There is no favorite artist they all good since art is a pleasure I try to respect their point of view.

What is your favorite piece of work by yourself?

White shark

How much time (on average) does it take to complete a work?

It can be 30 min. or one week.

How well do you take criticism?

I don´t think that matters too much.  People that really knows about art said good things and the others are always bla, bla, bla.

What do you do to overcome a ‘block’?

I look for distraction and exercise.

How do you know something is ‘finished’? Is it easy to walk away?

It’s never finished.  You just abandon when you’re satisfied

Have you had exhibits in galleries?

Yes! And museums too

Have you have any exhibits in galleries planned for the future?

Yes! In a place called “infashion” I just waiting for the space.

What are your plans for the future?

To have another kind of income and paint when I really feel like making it.

What advice would you give new artists?

To get more knowledge as they can

All kind of life exposure and virtual.
