Forum ArtWiki comes into its own!

As most of our members know, we have got an ArtWiki on the Talk Chat forum which is full of excellent tutorials, a couple of articles (more being added shortly) and now we are pleased to announce the Interviews that 1stAngel is famous for.

We are taking all the interviews over to the ArtWiki over the coming weeks, and putting all new ones up on it in the future.

Hopefully this will help our ArtWiki grow and help people find them and the people they love to read about….

This will take a little while so we ask everyone to be patient :) Thank you!

Ink & Brush Creations Presents~ A Pen & Ink Work in Progress

This is another project I have started on, a Pen & Ink of my cat, Nari.

I made sure to put the reference photo I took of her, next to the pencil drawing. I always pencil in first to make sure my values are in proportion.
Also tried to make the penciling darker than I normally do, so it will be easier for you to see.

Here I am just starting on her eyes and the fur around them.
These are my favorite Pen and Ink tools. I am using my usual 140lb hot press watercolor paper in a 9″ by 12″ size this time. Pens I am using are the Copic Multiliner 0.03 and the Sakura Pigma micron .05. Also have my pencil and a high quality eraser to remove the pencil marks.
Bit more fur to the right side of her face and color to her nose.

facsimile of the original handwritten 1776 Declaration of Independence has been rescued from obscurity

An authentic anastatic facsimile of the original handwritten 1776 Declaration of Independence has been rescued from obscurity by Tom Lingenfelter of Bucks County, PA. Lingenfelter, historian and President of the Heritage Collectors’ Society, said the copy provides definitive evidence of how the original Declaration was damaged.

The little-known anastatic process, patented and nused briefly in the late 1840’s until eclipsed by photography and other advancing printing technologies, produced perfect likenesses of original documents, a huge advantage over other contemporary methods. However, the
process relied on taking a direct contact impression using an acid-based solution and occasionally damaged or destroyed the original.

The Sistine Chapel Gets A Charleston Brush Stroke

Painted 12,000 square feet onto the ceiling of The Sistine Chapel is the depiction of famed Italian artist Michelangelo’s biblical scene of God’s Creation of the World, God’s Relationship with Mankind and Mankind’s Fall from God’s Grace. Michelangelo’s fresco tells a story to the world that words couldn’t explain, that only he as an artist envisioned putting in pictures. For over five hundred years the painting has become a spectacle worthy of seeing time and time again. However time has left its trace upon the famed images that one Charleston S.C. artist is putting his artistic stroke to revamp The Sistine Chapel.

If the restoration in 1984 wasn’t enough to raise questions, many scholars believe that attempting to restore the immaculate works of art once more will tarnish the uniqueness of the Michelangelo masterpiece once in for all, while others may deem the idea improbable.
