Welcome to the Artists Blog
This wonderful artist was born in the village of Kiungani in 1970. He left his country to seek refugee status in the United Kingdom His style is after a famous Tanzania painter, Edwad Said tingatinga.
Tingatinga (1932-1972) left his village in 1957 and started to paint in early 1968. He used brush and oil colours to paint mainly animals and birds.
Tingatinga art has been gaining ground in Japan,Europa and the USA.

When did you first become interested in art?
I have been interested in art since I was in school.
What style of art do you use most?
Style I use is called tingatinga style.

Has your style changed from when you first began as an artist?
My style has not changed since but every day I’m proved for create other style.
What medium do you use?
Oil on canvas
Do your ideas come from life or imagination?
My ideas come from imagination.

How do you choose your images and colours?
Imagination.
Who is your favourite artist?
My favourite artist is every artist.
What is your favourite piece of work by yourself?
It is hard to say, but if I pressed really hard, birds on paradise has to be my favourite piece because I have paint this for many years.

How much time (on average) does it take to complete a work?
It depends of size of canvas, some its take me from 3 days up to 15 days to do.
ow well do you take criticism?
Very serious.

What do you do to overcome a ‘block’?
Find another way.
How do you know something is ‘finished’?
It’s really hard to know if some thing it is not yours. but if my work i will know if ready finished by looking again and again. Its not easy to walk away.

Have you had exhibits in galleries?
no i never had.
Have you any exhibits in galleries planned for the future?
i wish to have one.
What are your plans for the future?
My plan is to have my own gallery and to open art school for young people who becoming interested with my art and to take them out of streets.

Keep fire burning and stay positive.
