Is this a rumour? Or did Imagekind really sell out for $15 MILLION to Cafepress?

VentureBeat and WebProNews report that CafePress, the print on demand company, have bought Imagekind.! Supposedly Imagekind were bought out for a meagre 15 million, with Zazzle competing for acquision also.

Have they bought them to keep them off their backs?

Or is it because Imagekind artists are among the best on the internet probably and now they belong to CP?!

Hope they do better, coz they cant do much worse! Still, I would miss them if they are swallowed up in the crowd.

  1. Hmmmm…. I’m not a huge fan of CafePress. If that is indeed what has happened, I wonder if they will allow Imagekind to proceed as something like an imprint, or how this will all work out…

  2. I really think they would be very silly if they changed the format and didn’t work on what has already been set in place. Many companies take others over and they totally lose the identity. A definite shame. Another thing that REALLY worries me is that Cafepress love shutting people up in their forums whereas IK have always allowed free speech. If that changes too then you know I will be in serious trouble LOL
