Gallows and Bullet For My Valentine are both in the running at this year’s Metal Hammer awards.

The monthly metal magazine’s annual ceremony, now in its sixth year, takes place for the first time at London’s 02 on 16 June.

Last year’s best newcomer nominees Gallows are in the running for best live act.

Welsh metallers Bullet For My Valentine have a chance to take home a Golden God award for best UK band and best video.

Their latest album, Scream Aim Fire, recently went top five in the UK and the US.

But they will have to beat off competition from the likes of Paradise Lost and metal legends Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Saxon.

Bullet also get a nod in the best video category.

In the Inspiration category, voted for by the magazine’s writers, this year’s headliners at the Download Festival, Kiss, are up against Slipknot and Nine Inch Nails.

Tickets are available for fans to attend at the official website.
