Pick of the Day – Deborah Allison
Browsing through the many galleries of www.fineartamerica.com viewing the works of fellow artists can be very inspiring. I can say I am truly inspired by the work of this artist. Her portraits depict the various ranges in human emotions, and the viewer is transfixed by the characterization of her subjects. As I viewed her gallery I was reminded of the paintings of Rembrandt, who used his art to convey ideas. It was such a pleasure viewing Deborah’s gallery and I am proud to select a piece of her work as pick of the day.
“
Deborah Allison rediscovered her love of art and painting while living in Paris, France from 1989 to 2000. Studying with Alexandra Georgeon-Colin and Timothy Wells gave her the training needed to be a painter in the more traditional styles. After sampling most of the 2 dimensional media, Deborah settled on watercolor for most of her on site landscape paintings because of the fluid nature and ease in transporting the finished work.
Deborah has tried to focus on realism and painting from life. Today, Deborah is studying with Tony Ryder at Ryder Studios in Santa Fe. She is focusing on long pose portraiture and figure work…and loving it!”
