Pick of the Day – Kenneth Young
Spectacular artist and an amazing talent! Along with oil paintings, Kenneth also has photographs posted in his gallery on Fine Art America, I had to pay close attention. Have look, you will not be disappointed, enjoy the tour. Thank you Kenneth!
Sketching and drawing for as long as I can remember, I now paint landscapes in oil on canvas in a style influenced by the Hudson River School. I got my start copying my favorite comic book characters in pencil/pen and ink. Shortly before high school I took a correspondence course with Art Instruction School in Minneapolis Minn. I furthered my studies in high school. Friends know me as the guy who drew his self portrait in the year book. In my freshman year I was introduced to oils. Since then this has been my favorite medium. I am fascinated with reflections, light filtering through fall leaves and the sky. As a self employed house painter I carry my camera everywhere, capturing and freezing bits of color, light and shadow to paint from.
