Silvia is an Italian amateur photographer born in 1963 in Northern Piedmont. Her passion for photography started back in her teens, when her parents gave her a Kodak Instamatic as a birthday present. Since then, she never stopped using photography as a mean of expression, but it was only with the advent of modern DSRL cameras that she was able to further explore the endless possibilities of…- continued the digital image creation.

Silvia’s work cover a great variety of subjects: landscape, abstract, black and white, as well as grunge.

Over the years, she has participated to various international photography contests and was awarded several honorable mentions and
also a win:

2005

- Honorable Mention at the IPA – International Photography Awards 2005, category Fine Art in non-professional, sub category Still-Life with her image Pomegranates n.1.
- Finalist at the Third Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest 2005 in the Altered Images category with her image Leaf in Tar.

2007

- Honorable Mention at the Px3-Photo Competition 2007 and third place in the Still-Life section at the Px3 Public Choice Awards with her image Pomegranates n.1.
- Nominee in the Nature section at the Black and White Spider Awards 2007 with her image Winter Bareness.
- Nominee in the Architecture section at the International Color Awards 2007 with her image Stairs.
- Winner Collage section at the International Photography Awards 2007 with her image City Shadow.

2008

- Nominee in the Architecture category at the International Color Awards 2008 with her image Church Detail and nominee in the Still-Life category with her image Pomegranates n.1.

Her images City balconies and Metropolis were published in the Architecture and Urban Scenes section of Wiley Publishing’s volume Photos That Inspire. One of her images was also selected for the “Abandoned Chairs” book by abandonedchairs.org.
She also had the honor of seeing one of her photos, City Shadow, featured in the latest redbubble.com book entitled The City.
