Stampington & Company’s premier publication for artistic dolls and sculptural figures, Art Doll Quarterly, celebrates its fifth year in 2008. In an effort to fulfill the adapting needs of art doll-makers, Stampington & Company is integrating new editorial content into upcoming issues.

Since the first issue in 2003, Art Doll Quarterly has covered all facets of the world of art dolls, striking the balance between the multiple artistic styles present in modern doll-making. Issues contain dolls from all mediums, from cloth dolls and clay figures to abstract wire forms and Papier-mâché sculptures. Along with the varied materials that are showcased, a plethora of styles are represented from artists of all levels.
Editor Staci Dumoski recognizes that the art of doll-making is ever-changing, and wants to reflect the dynamic nature of the art form in the publication. “The world of dolls is not static, and we have to be responsive in order to best serve the community. I don’t want readers to pick up Art Doll Quarterly knowing what is going to be inside, I want them to find something that surprises and inspires them in every issue.” The editorial content for upcoming issues also reflects an increased focus on the practical side of doll-making, incorporating stepped-out instructions into select articles.
Art Doll Quarterly is released quarterly in February, May, August, and November, and is available directly through Stampington & Company or on newsstands in the “Craft & Hobby” or “Doll Collecting” sections. Back issues are still available for purchase through Stampington & Company.
