My name is David Jackson but prefer to sell under the name “Alienvisitor”
I live in Ontario,Canada, I have lived in many parts of this planet, but always seem to come back “home”.
I’ve always enjoyed art of all kinds, over the years I tried many mediums. I have tried oils, watercolor, sketching, carving, photography etc.
I collect and tint by hand old B&W maps and engravings and have been a hand bookbinder for 35 years collecting old books. I also make my own marbled end papers.
I decorate papers using the japanese art form “Suminagashi” which is water painting using inks, natural minerals, stylus, brushes, and transferring the finished painting onto rice paper. But, in all the mediums I have tried, there was always a lack of encouragement from those around me. So I moved on to other careers, rare bookseller, antique lighting/antique shop owner etc and by the time I turned 60 I had held just under 100 careers, artist being the 100th.
My Creations.
I have always been an avid reader, I read fiction novels,(about a book a day) lots of scifi, mystery, adventure, action.
All these have led my art to the creations I produce today, they are a combination of photography,software programs and 3D renders using the computer and my reading helps very much with the stories I add to those same creations.
Over the years my mind and its imagination built up a treasure trove of ideas that are now being released.
Its been a long time coming, but now in my 66th year I have started to gain recognition for my art, mainly through the internet on various art and photography sites such as this one, I am starting to sell in a variety of forms, and have won many POTD, POTM,and even a POTQ on the photography site… Digital Image Cafe
This is a site where I have gained much knowledge of photography and how it is viewed,which helps tremendously in how I present my art.
