Something fishy is going on Downunder and is making waves right across the art world. Having seen their hopes sunk in the Olympics, our Aussie cousins are now turning their attentions to more cultural pursuits.

Next time you open a tin of line caught sustainable Tuna don’t throw the tin away because you just might be throwing away the next priceless art masterpiece.

Gorgeous Aussie beauty and artist Soxy Fleming 24 from Melbourne came up with the bones of the plan to send an empty Tuna Tin around the globe. No..I’m not making it up.

(Above : Soxy all dressed and ready for a spot of Tuna fishing)

Being a well known culture vulture I phoned the very lovely Soxy to get the low down on her art.. I asked “Why a Tuna Tin and why empty ?”

“Why not” said sexy Soxy, ”if Campbell’s Soup can be art then why can’t an empty tin of Tuna.”

Whatever floats your boat Soxy !

We asked “What next.. Kellogs Corn Flakes packets to the Moon?”
Aussie beauty Soxy replied “that’s a bonza idea.. ”

The intrepid Tuna Tin was filled with mystery objects and posted to France and the studio of stunning French beauty and artist Pascale Baud 23.. the lovely Pascale told us “Je voudrai réserver une table pour cinq personnes, s’il-vous-plait.” Well thanks for that Pascale, I’m sure all our readers understand French ! Why did we join the European Union ?!

Next port for the Tuna Tin was here England and Lancaster artist Andy Mercer.
“I paint rather nice and inexpensive landscapes “I have no idea what it is about.. it just turned up out of the blue one day” said 6’6’ hunky English artist Andy Mercer 24. “I had a quick look at the contents but really don’t want to tell you what was in the Tin, it might upset your more nervous readers”

So where next for the intrepid flying Tuna ? Well at this moment it is winging its way across the Atlantic on its way to the USA and super lovely Californian based artist Margot Heffernan 24.

Being an art lover, I phoned the Tate Modern in London to ask if they had plans to bring the Tuna Tin to London ? Fred Serota replied “We are prepared to outbid our rivals as we feel it’s an outstanding contemporary piece of art and we want it here. We are currently in negotiations with Soxy Fleming’s agent to bring the Tin here to London.. but we know the Guggenheim in Spain are fishing for it as well. Miss Fleming has indicated she would prefer us to net the Tuna Tin.. because “the UK is the Premier League of art.”
