I have spent the last couple of years testing the waters (so to speak) with my art. I have been finding what I enjoy painting and what the genre I am more comfortable with
During that time life has been happening. Some good and some bloody awful.
Recently I had to take some time off and this has been great for settling my mind to where I want to concentrate my work. I missed one way of painting the most and one subject more than any other
So, as soon as my hand could take a brush, albeit uncomfortably, I have got straight back to work doing what I have now decided to take seriously and do more of….
Learning who you are takes a lifetime but, learning what makes you happy can take a shorter time. The sea has always been the place I am the happiest. Going on the water is when I am truly at peace. Painting it, it appears, is damn close. I may never be a skilled painter, or be able to realistically render what is i my mind but I am going to take pleasure in every stroke
