Paints, brushes and canvases are so expensive. Since I’m just starting out learning how to paint, can I buy the cheapest supplies then add the more expensive ones as I get better?
I asked my good friend Darice, a teacher of art, what she thought about this. Her reply is as follows. Best of luck with your new lifestyle, for that is what it becomes 🙂
It’s tough enough to get a good result when you are learning to paint without giving yourself a further handicap by using inferior paints, brushes and canvases. Buying cheap is often a false economy and is likely to set you up for frustration and disappointment. Buying quality materials will help you achieve better results.
