People going about their everyday life are beautiful. Given the right light, everyday life is heart-stoppingly beautiful. I try to catch that heart-stopping moment in paint. And because I am an painter, not a photographer, I exaggerate color and contrast to capture not only the look but the feeling of the moment. I paint the moment in watercolor because the paintings I am most drawn to are in that medium. I try to take advantage of the difficulties of working with such a wet and unforgiving medium. I love the happy accidents that come from the paint moving around on the paper by itself. I mix most of my colors on the paper rather than the palette so that the colors change subtly across the painting. No two shadows are ever exactly the same hue. CONTACT THIS ARTIST
