I’m a photographer / photography-based digital artist living in the mid-Atlantic area of the US.  My images are mostly colorful representations of places I’ve been and things I find beautiful and uplifting.  Here at my blog you’ll find many of my latest photographic and artistic images plus loads of juicy insider personal information.  Well … no not really, lol.  But … plenty of ramblings and musings on life in general … observations, maybe even amusing ones, on things most of us have in common.  All this in addition to showing off my images … some of which I hope will strike a chord with you in memory or association … something that just might be meaningful to you, as they are to me.

By the way … why not follow me on my Twitter Page … Facebook  or Google+ pages, too!

Images that I include here can be viewed and purchased on my website (or just click each to be taken right to a better resolution with less ridiculous watermark), and are all my own unless otherwise stated (I sometimes highlight my son’s beautiful photography and will always mention that in the image description).  They are based on the snaps I capture, mostly with Nikon cameras and lenses. Though my goal will always be to catch that perfect shot straight out of the camera, I also enjoy exploring the artistic and creative process as I work with Photoshop and other image editing programs.

I’d love to have you visit my main website to view a great selection of photography and photography-based digital images as fine wall art, greeting cards, tote bags and other products.  They make unique and lovely gifts … (and don’t forget a little something for yourself!) … at Lois Bryan Fine Art. Many images are also available on additional products such as electronics’ covers, mugs and more at my Redbubble store.

A tiny bit of horn tooting (it’s called “shameless self-promotion” … forgive me … ):  My images can be found in homes and businesses around the world … these include several used by ABC Television for the set of one of their most popular network programs; twelve images licensed by the Mayo Clinic for their prestigious 2013 Mayo Clinic Promotional Calendar; and one of my most popular winter scenic images which was licensed by Comda Advertising Connections Company for their 2015 Pennsylvania Calendar.  I was featured on The Untapped Source’s “Meanwhile In Art” page in October of 2013 as Artist of the Week; and I was interviewed in the December, 2013 edition of Trillium Magazine .  I’m also honored that two of my images were chosen by St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital for their 2014 DC Gourmet Gala Fundraiser.

  1. Hi Lois! I didn’t know you had a blog! What a great way to showcase your beautiful work and musings!! Glad I found you!! Good luck in your new site!

    • Dottie … how wonderful to see you .. thanks so so much for stopping by!! Yep, I’ve had the blog for quite a while and had been active off and on, then got real serious about it some time back and have been posting pretty regularly ever since. I really do enjoy it!!! Still figuring things out with the new theme and set up … it’s a good way to keep the brain juices fresh, heh heh!!! Thank you again!!!

    • Thank you so much … have you set up your new blog yet? I haven’t been online as much these past several weeks with the move and all … so did I miss your grand opening?? I hope not!!!

  2. G’day, Lois!
Your first picture of the “One Room School” brought on a flood of memories! In my Primary school years in the 1950s, we sat at desks just like those and one of my tasks was to ensure all the ink wells were full every morning! Learning to write with pen and ink, with a “slope card” under the paper – and of course a blotter at hand! In Australia, it was a portrait of the newly crowned Queen Elizabeth II that hung on our wall – and she’s still reigning…

Excellent works – and I agree that digital “painting” can give hours of fun and pleasure!

    🙂 george

    PS: Website under construction.

    • Hi George! I loved reading your note … one of the things I love best about photography and digital art is the connections made between photographer/artist and the viewer. Bringing back a memory or two, to me, feels like magic! My own musings about this particular image can be seen by clicking on the picture. Though we didn’t have a wood stove in the classroom, a lot of the other fixings were very familiar to me!!

  3. Comment: Lois, your blog is so cute and interesting. Loved reading it! A couple of these scenes I’ve not seen before and they are just stunning and I love that little bird cup! Keep up the amazing work you do Lois!

Think I sent this as an e-mail…oops 🙂

    • Thank you!!! You know what? It’s one of mine, too … it’s been the header on my FB business page for ages. I keep telling myself to change it, but … can’t bring myself to do so!!! Honored that you like it too!!! Hope all is bumping along well in your world, sweetie!!!! Thanks much for dropping by!!!
