When did you first become interested in art, in general?
I didn’t really consider my picture taking as art when I started. I photographed lots of airplanes at airshows and airports. I took pictures of interesting places on vacations and school field trips. Over the years, I gradually developed an artistic sense as I strived to make my pictures appeal to a wider audience. I have always considered myself more of a historian or documentary maker than an artist.

When did you first become interested in art, in general?
About five years ago I picked up a camera for the first time but didn’t really do much. It was only a 4 mp camera but I liked taking pictures. Around January of 2009 I got a 10 mega pixel camera and really started taking pictures more seriously. So all last year was a learning and evolving process. So I guess the art, photography and writing were all started last year.

When did you first become interested in art, in general?
I guess my first “interest in art” came when I started making costumes for my teddy bear using pins and bits of fabric when I was about 7 or 8 years old. From then on I was fascinated by combining various bits of color and texture together to create something that didn’t exist before. Not sure where that came from, but the more I think about it, maybe I didn’t quite like how that portion of my childhood was going and was abstractly trying to...

When did you first become interested in photography, specifically?
My father bought a camera and set up a dark room in the family bathroom with boards across the bath and an enlarger plugged into the light socket.
On which style(s) of photography do you specialize?
It is a form of social realism, although the images are not strictly truthful. There is an element of post modernism in that there is no clear narrative.
Has your style changed from when you first began? If so, why?
The formation of style seems to come in waves; there is an evolution of the style, as it is...

When did you first become interested in art, in general?
When I was really young I always loved programmes like Smart and Art Attack. I used to make everything they showed on there! I always studied art at school and even when I was in playgroup all I wanted to do was play with the paints! I don’t remember a specific point in which I thought. ‘oh maybe I do prefer the creative side of things’, it just seems to have always been with me.

When did you first become interested in art, in general?
In 3rd grade when we were asked to contribute to an underwater mural of the Mississippi river. I drew a catfish. My teacher told me how great it was but it was a shame there was no practical use for such talents. I haven’t drawn seriously since.
When did you first become interested in photography, specifically?
My oldest brother was photo editor for the local college newspaper and asked me to take a photo of him sledding down a hill. It was a lucky shot but made the front page of the paper.

When did you first become interested in art, in general?
I’m not 100% sure of the answer to this question. I think that since childhood, I was interested in art to an extent, but wasn’t quite aware that I actually was – if that makes any sense. I wasn’t interested in art in the sense that I was always creating all sorts of works. The only art I can really recall doing as a child (for the most part) was art class in elementary school. I’m a terrible artist with pencils, paints, etc. My stick men even look strange! What I can recall, however, is not writing off art creations by...

When did you first become interested in art?
My interest in Art lay dormant until I first encounted Original Arts practice in mid 1997 in Berlin / Germany. I was travelling around Northern Europe at the time and spent a few weeks in an Artist squat being subjected to and enthralled by the European attitude to Arts Appreciation thus began my own practice as a Sculptor .
What style of art do you use most?
The description of My “Style” which as an Artist is always determinded by the viewer, and has been described as Dark, Social Commentary, Urban Realism and Innerscapes or...

What style of art do you use most?
I hate to be pinned down to one style…. I’d like to think that my style is evolving as I mature as an artist and as I am influenced by the art of others and world events. I probably use collage or mixed media the most, but coming up on the inside curve would be abstract expressionism and color field painting. I also have a strong streak of Dada anti-art in me that jumps out in my humorous pieces.
Has your style changed from when you first began as an artist?
Although I started out using traditional media, I began to explore digital media in the...

When did you first become interested in art
My grandmother was talented in every medium of arts and crafts. She could sew, knit, crochet, canvas paint, design and make jewelry, decorate cakes, you name she could do it! I watched her for years doing these activities, but I was never really interested in “Arts and Crafts”. About, 5 years ago I purchased my first digital camera….and I was hooked. There is something about taking a picture and seeing it right away .

When did you first become interested in art?
Gosh… I don’t know. Suppose that would depend on how you define art. As a kid I was pretty much typical, liked to draw, doodle, and had occasional dreams of painting. Just, never really had much talent for any of it, especially painting. Now… If you consider crafts art… I was better at that, liked to build and make things. And, I still do!
Took some pictures over the years and continued trying my hand at drawing off and on. Interest waxed and waned as time went by.
My current interest started in the mid-1990’s when I...

When did you first become interested in art, in general?
I enjoyed art in elementary school starting in kindergarten or 1st grade, I guess, but I never was any good at it, so I never got that into things like drawing or painting.
When did you first become interested in photography, specifically?
When I met my wife. She had shown me some black & whites that she had enlarged to 8 x 10 and I thought it was so cool to actually see that in person. Then she showed me two books that totally inpired me into photography. One was Kodak’s “The Joy of Photography” and the other...

When did you first become interested in art, in general?
I have loved art as long as I can remember. Art and music classes were my favorite in school. I also loved poetry and literature classes.I used to be part of a local dancing group for five years and a school choir for three years or so.
When did you first become interested in photography, specifically?
It was at the end of 2006 when I became seriously interested in photography as a medium for expressing myself. Even though I have always loved photography and snapped pictures of anything that cached my eye whenever i had a chance.

When did you first become interested in art, in general?
If ballet counts, then at five. That’s when I started. Anything else much later.
Back in school in the GDR, I could never come up with the same interpretation of any poem or other work of art as my teachers, and theirs was the official line and ‘always right’. So I thought I was crap at it and forgot about it.
Intellectually I know now that art says what it says to you on a very personal level. But the damage was already done.

When did you first become interested in art, in general?
I have always had a creative bent, even as a little girl. I loved craft kits and building things and drawing pictures. As I got older, I had opportunities in school to take numerous art classes and explore different media. Sadly, the responsibilities of adulthood pushed my interest to the back burner for a time, although I continued to write poetry and putter with watercolours and my camera whenever time allowed. But now, with our children grown and our businesses on “autopilot”, I have the time to turn my attention...

I have always been interested in art and spent alot of time in Museums in New York. My husband is a painter in NYC so I was around the art world in the 70’s , 80’s and 90’s.
When did you first become interested in photography, specifically?
I have always been interested in photography. I always looked through my grandmothers old photos from the early 1900’s. I became the family documentarian, taking photos of everyone and everything

When did you first become interested in art, in general?
As a child. My grandfather, George Allen Pierce Jr., was a painter of maritime vessels, and nautical scenes. I have lived near the ocean for most of my life, and I’ve always felt centered, and connected to the world, near water. As a result of my legal blindness, reading text, has always been an extreme, often frustrating, challenge. So from a young age, art: painting, drawing, and photography have always been my first portal to new concepts, and understanding.

When did you first become interested in art.
I remember first having an interest in photography from my early teenage years and being pleased with the resulting images from an expedition to the summit of Mt. Snowdon with my parents. I continue to have a personal preference towards images of a landscape / seascape genre.
What style of art do you concentrate on?
I tend to use photographic images and sometimes ‘digitally paint’ them, mainly because I’m useless at freehand drawing or painting. My first experience with digital art was with a programme called...

When did you first become interested in art, in general?
I think art is all around us from the beginning of our lives to the end of it. I mean, you can find “art” in everything in the surrounding world and probably that’s what makes photography so unique. I can show the most average thing of life from a different view, from a subjective perspective and with a little luck it became enough “arty” to be interesting.
When did you first become interested in photography, specifically?
